The SpinMol Conference 2014 poster can be downloaded here.
Recent discoveries raise expectations for spintronic devices working on quantum states based on small atomic and molecular ensembles. The "Spintronics and Magnetochemistry on the Atomic and Molecular Level" Conference covers recent advances in the understanding of metal/organic interfaces, the fabrication of small spintronic devices, and characterization and simulation methods. The conference is open to interested scientists in academia and industry.
An important focus of the conference is the similarity / difference of established magnetochemistry when performed on the level of the single spin system or when bound to surfaces and interfaces. An animated motivation can be found here:
The conference will be held from October 26th to 30th, 2014, at the Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF), a conference centre of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. It is situated in the south of Switzerland (Canton Ticino) at Monte Verità.
For the best poster presentation at the conference, the CSF will award one young scientist with a prize of CHF 500.- together with a certificate and a small CSF/Monte Verità memento. To be eligible for the award, the participant must be under 33 years old and either a PhD student or someone who has accomplished doctoral degree within the last 3 years.
